We started very strongly against our visitors, but could not turn our territorial advantage into goals. Martin Veele, Arik Kubicki and Dylan Beckham went close with Kubicki hitting the crossbar from 18 yards.
Then in the 27th minute, the visitors in their first concerted attack ,scored when a speculative shot from 25 yards flew of the slick surface and left Robert Woolmer clutching at thin air. The ball hit a divet and rose alarmingly beyond his grasp. We continued to lay siege to the visitors goal without any success.
Then with five minutes remaining the visitors doubled their lead when a mix up left their striker unmarked on the near post and he slotted the ball under the 'keepers despairing dive to leave Metro 0-2 at the interval.
The second half started the same as the first with Metro doing all the attacking but without any success. In the 65th minute a double substitution brought about Metro reducing the deficit. Soon afterwards Dylan Beckham drilled a shot home from 25 yards and sparked Metro into scoring a second goal when Steve Dacre ,on his debut fro Metro, headed in on the near post from Shayn Rencher's right wing cross.
After the equalising goal we kept Suburbs pinned in their half for long periods but without being able to nail the winning goal. Overall it was a disappointing result in view of the dominance we had in the match, however the team showed resolution to fight back and share the points.
