GIRLS FOOTBALL AT METRO FC 2012

In 2011 we had 100 girls playing football from 6^th grade through to 15^th grade in either the Metro FC  or their affiliated Metro Gladstone teams.  For the 2012 season, once players have finished playing Whole of Football or junior football, we are keen to have them all playing in the Girls Grades from 10^th – 17^th grades.

Currently the Auckland Football Federation runs girls only competitions in the following grades, but they will be reviewed next season once player registrations have been confirmed:

• 10^th Grade –Divisions I, II and III
• 11^th Grade - Divisions I and II
• 12^th Grade - Divisions I and II
• 13^th Grade - Divisions I, II and III
• 14^th Grade – Combined
• 15^th Grade - Divisions I, II and III
• 17^th Grade - Divisions I and II

Metro FC are aiming to become the club that supports young girls in football, both for the competitive girls and for the girls who enjoy a [muddy team sport].  We will be holding gradings to see where our players’ strengths are best placed to create teams who get to play enjoyable football.

We have a great family club atmosphere and want to be a leader in developing and nuturing both our future football ferns and those who just love such a great game.

The Muster Dates for 2012, which will be held at the Phyllis Street clubrooms, are on Friday 10^th February 6:00 – 8:00pm and Sunday 12^th February 10:00am – 12:00 noon.

If you’ve already been playing for Metro FC, we hope you’re planning to continue with us again for the 2012 season; or if you are looking for a new club to play girls football with, please come to the Metro FC Muster.  Don’t forget to bring along your friends if they are interested in joining a girls’ football team.
